In the Congo region, this sauce is made with wild mushrooms and green lemon. Since African mushrooms may not be available outside of Africa, substitute your favorite edible mushrooms. Serve this sauce over any roasted or grilled meat.

Serve this sauce over any roasted or grilled meat.
1lbmushrooms; cleaned and chopped into small pieces
3tbspcooking oil, butter, or margarine
juice of 1 or 2 lemons (green lemons may be used)
Instructions

Heat oil (or butter or margarine) in a sauce pan or skillet over a medium heat. Add mushrooms and stir-fry them until they are tender. Add lemon juice. Reduce heat and simmer a few minutes.
